Apples and Snakes Word Cup at the Southbank Centre
The Apples and Snakes Word Cup – Showcase Final brings together seven teams of young poets from across England for an energetic afternoon of live performance as they compete in a national spoken word showcase.
Part of the Southbank Centre's Poetry International festival, this free event sees talented young people aged 13–16 take to the stage to perform original collaborative poems inspired by their hometowns, ideas and experiences. Hosted by acclaimed poet Jacob Sam-La Rose and featuring special guest performances from internationally renowned spoken word artists, it's an uplifting celebration of creativity, confidence and self-expression.
Just a 12-minute walk from Sea Containers London, the Apples and Snakes Word Cup – Showcase Final is a fantastic event for families with older children and teenagers, offering an inspiring introduction to performance poetry in the heart of London's South Bank. Best of all, admission is completely free.
