Status of these terms

These Terms apply to your bookings with us, unless you and we agree that other terms will apply.
If you are a consumer, you also have certain basic rights at law, and these are not affected by these Terms.
All your interactions with us are also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal information we collect from you, how and why we collect, store and use such information, your rights in relation to your personal information, and what to do if you have a query or complaint about the use of your personal information.

Making, cancelling and varying a booking

Making a booking
You may make a booking online, by telephone or in person. We do not charge different prices depending on the method of booking, unless we issue a promotional offer that must be redeemed using a particular method, in which case we will be clear about that. Please check our website, or phone us, for room rates. Room rates are subject to VAT. If you are a tax-exempt guest, you must bring an Individual Tax-Exempt form received from your organisation and present it at check-in.

Cancelling a booking
Occasionally people wish to cancel all or part of a booking. In that situation, we like to make life easy for you, and so if you are early enough in your cancellation, we often won’t need to charge. Please read the rest of this clause 4 to understand the position.

If you are entitled to cancel a booking, you may do so online, by telephone or in person – you do not need to use the same method you used to make the booking.

With the exception of pre-paid bookings, group bookings of 9 rooms or more (see clause 4.7), or any special promotion that states different cancellation terms, our policy is that:

  • if you cancel a booking before 6:00 p.m. (UK time) on the day prior to check-in, you will not be charged for the cancellation; and
  • if you cancel a booking after 6:00 p.m. (UK time) on the day prior to check-in, you must pay one night’s stay (plus VAT) for your cancelled room (or for each room, if you booked more than one), based on the price you would have paid for the room(s).

Varying a booking
If you wish to change the dates of your booking, this will be treated as a cancellation and rebooking, and will be subject to the cancellation provisions.

The following are non-cancellable and non-refundable in all situations:

  • fully pre-paid bookings;
  • group bookings of 9 rooms or more; and
  • bookings made under certain special offers where we have made it clear prior to your booking that no cancellation or refund is possible.

If you wish to leave prior to your departure date, you must pay an early-departure fee of the equivalent of one night’s stay (plus VAT) for each cancelled room (plus the current night’s stay if you tell us after 6:00 p.m. and your new departure date is the following day).

Accommodation Service Charge

Please note that a discretionary 5% accommodation service charge will be added to your bill on check-out. This is distributed amongst our staff.
